My journey

This is me. This is my journey.

I have found that when you allow yourself to become vulnerable, to show not only the world, but yourself, the person that you truly are. To acknowledge and confront your wildest dreams, your darkest demons and the raw, imperfect soul that hides within. Then, God (the universe, or whatever you choose to call it) will conspire, align and enlighten your journey with confirmation that you are heading in the right direction. Your story comes alive, with people and places that set your heart on fire. A new world will open up, right there in front of your eyes. Even the most familiar of places lights up with new and unexpected beauty. And, if you are fortunate enough, you are blessed with people who see and appreciate and experience these stories with you.

You can sit quietly in your darkness and watch these souls appear, some are fireflies in the dark, softly lighting up the night skies. Others come like lightning bolts in a storm, illuminating all that is dark within.

So this is me, sharing my vulnerable heart. My flawed and often scattered thoughts. Woven into a story. I am not a writer, to some my words may carry no significance. But I will share it non the less, in hope that I will find myself. In hope that I can make sense of all the moments that make up my life. In hope that somewhere in the world, my story, my words, may inspire or awaken or call out to another. And if I can touch only one other wandering soul and breathe hope into their heart. Then, I believe, my life had purpose. I believe my story held truth. Then I believe, even when it hurts, that hope springs eternal.

“To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.” – The secret life of Walter Mitty
